Come Among
“Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” (James 5:16, ESV)
Tomorrow we gather.
All week James has pressed one word into us: among. Not me and my earbuds. Not faith as a private hobby. A people. A family. A we.
Bring it all with you tomorrow. Bring the place you’d been walking alone. Bring the prayer you’d given up on. Bring the safe person’s name you finally wrote down. Bring the one who has drifted, and whatever you couldn’t quite do yet.
Last Sunday we came to the table together. One bread, one cup, not one person. That’s the whole sermon in your hands. You do not come to Jesus alone. You come among.
So don’t come tomorrow to be entertained. Come to be known, out loud, with your people.
Today: Pray for one person you’ll see tomorrow. Pray they show up. Pray they don’t come alone.
