Nobody’s Too Far Gone
“Whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.” (James 5:20, ESV)
Earlier in this passage, the person in trouble reaches out. They pray, they call. But here, they don’t. They wander. Quietly. And somebody has to go get them.
That’s the turn. Some people won’t raise a hand. The shame is too loud. They’ve drifted so slowly they’re not even sure anyone would notice if they disappeared.
James says: notice. Go.
You may know someone right now who used to be in the room and isn’t anymore. You’ve wondered whether to reach out. Wonder no longer. What breaks the shame isn’t a better verse quoted from a distance. It’s a friend who sees you, stays, and walks you back.
Nobody is too far gone. But somebody has to be the one who goes. And you’re not too small for that assignment. A text. A call. A cup of coffee. That’s how souls come home.
Today: Name one person who has drifted. Don’t fix them. Just reach out. A short text today, no agenda.
