Never an Only Child

“And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.” (James 5:15, ESV)

Some mornings you pray and it feels like talking to the ceiling. So you pray less. Then you stop. If nobody’s listening, why bother.

James leans in and says: no. Keep praying. Nobody prays for you instead of you. The line is still yours. But hear what he promises. The prayer of faith is heard. The Lord Himself raises you up. You are not shouting into an empty sky. You have a Father who listens.

And here is the part we forget. Even when you pray alone in a quiet house, you are not an only child. When you are too low to sing, and some of us are too low to sing this morning, the family keeps singing until you can find your voice again. They pray the prayer you don’t have the strength to pray.

You still bring your own heart to God. You just never carry it by yourself.

Today: Bring God the thing you’d stopped praying about. Say it out loud. Then text one person and ask them to pray it with you.
